September 5, 2007It has been a long making of it with me. So, not merely satisified with one degree I have decided to double the fun with two majors: Classics and Philosophy. What is a Classics degree? The Classics major will be slow going at the beginning. There are three mandatory prerequisite sequences, each sequence consisting of 3 classes, which must be taken in Fall-Spring order. Meanwhile I have the Philosophy requirements that I still must plan around. After the prereqs, I must “specialize” 2/3 of the upper division requirements in either Greek or Latin.
U.C.S.D. is on the quarter system, meaning that each academic period lasts 10 weeks, not the boorish 4 months of most semesters. My first quarter I will be taking biological and organic chemistry, Intro to Greek, Intro to Latin, and Plato. That’s 4 classes or 16 quarter units.
If only I was taking a course on Nietzsche….I could link to this faux video.
